GIANT ROBOT WARRIOR MAINTENANCE CREW
There’s a long history of giant robot stories in popular culture, most of which involve massive battles, clean-cut heroes, and evil, over-the-top villains.
Well, that’s not quite what Giant Robot Warrior Maintenance Crew (GRWMC for short) is about.
With GRWMC we deal with the people who operate strictly INSIDE a giant robot, and try to keep its internal machinery from breaking down. And we never actually reveal what the exterior of the robot looks like.
Our story unfolds through the eyes of a young woman named Erica Pratch. She’s new to the Maintenance Crew, and joined up because she wanted to travel and be part of something exciting. But the reality of working inside a giant robot warrior isn’t anything like she expected. This is a high-stress job done in the most ridiculous situations possible, where people routinely snap under the pressure. On top of that the pilots of the robot don’t know what they’re doing, and alien monsters run loose in the service tunnels.
But someone has to keep that giant robot functioning. No matter how much back-breaking, soul-crushing, life-threatening work it might take.
Giant Robot Warrior Maintenance Crew is a three-issue mini-series that should appeal to fans of Spaceballs, Aliens, the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and of course giant robot stories. It’s an idea we’ve been itching to get made for several years now, and the time has finally come to make it happen.
Though while we are working with a small publisher, we still need help to tackle production costs and marketing. Plus, Mervyn will have to turn down some freelance work to make time to finish these pages. A large chunk of the funds will be used to make sure the guy can eat.
So with that in mind we’re offering a great series of rewards for any pledges given, including collected sets of all three issues, original artwork, and even appearances in the story. If you live outside the U.S., please include an extra $5.00 to help cover any shipping and handling involved.
And if you like our project then please take a moment to send our link around, and help spread the word on what GRWMC is all about.
Thanks for your consideration, and we look forward to bringing Giant Robot Warrior Maintenance Crew to you soon.
